Floridian Design, Inc. has been in operation since the summer of 2001. Owner, Bruce Sikes, has been a professional woodworker since 1989. He and his wife, Amy, owned and operated a retail furniture store for twelve years, with Bruce specializing in designing and building custom pieces for many of their clients. In the spring of 2001, the Sikes' made the decision to close their retail store and focus solely on custom designed cabinetry. Bruce opened Floridian Design later that year.
Floridian Design specializes in the design and manufacturing of solid wood, quality-built custom kitchens, Vanities, media centers, mantels, home offices and libraries. Bruce is an innovative craftsman who has worked closely with several of Northeast Florida's most respected homebuilders and interior designers. Bruce especially enjoys finding solutions for customers with interior design challenges. He is most comfortable working directly with the homeowner, designing just the right piece for their home or offfice. However, he is also happy to work from an architect's or builder's plans, when the client desires.
The manufacturing staff at Floridian Design is proud of their ability to meet the high standards set for them in the construction of all of their pieces. Only top quality hardware and materials are utilized in Floridian Design projects, from the finest solid hardwoods to European glides and hinges. Staying up-to-date on the latest technology in cabinetry, allows Bruce and his staff to succeed in the competitive cabinetry field.
Every piece manufactured at Floridian Design is given a professional, custom-blended finish that is hand-rubbed and lacquer top-coated to last a lifetime. Whether the client desires a unique finish in a custom color or simply wishes to match existing furniture or cabinetry, the finishing staff at Floridian Design are experts in field.
Cabinet building is a passion that Bruce shares with his family. He is a third-generation furniture craftsman and hopes to continue the tradition with his children and perhaps one day with his grandkids, Liam, Oliva and Ameila.
